4 months old

He has my crazy sensitive skin, you touch the little guy and redness in streaks and splotches break out, the binki is a new bff and his purple shot band-aids

Owen had his 4month check up yesterday with Dr. DeSimone. He his our little chunky monkey weighing in at 21 lbs 10 oz, off the chart in his weight and height 97th percentile for his head circumference. He has added a scream to his vocal skills and will laugh out loud. He stills love his play mat and uses the rings to pull himself side to side but as of today at 11:30 am we have a roller. Yes he rolled over, he is mobile, back to tummy, the more difficult way. Our little boy is quite an over achiever already. Kidding. He had his next series of shots, 4 in total and he didn't even cry--just like his mommy. Owen has such a sweet temperament and loves to snuggle, sing, dance, take baths, pull his binki in &out, hold his binki and wave it about, be outside, walks in his stroller, Colette kissed from bosty and being nudy. We also started rice cereal today--HE LOVED IT ! The poor kid has been eyeing real food for weeks and even went after grandpa's burger at the 4th of July festivities. I am so thankful to have such a healthy happy little boy, he makes my heart full of sunshine and I can't imagine a better way to spend my days and nights doing anything else. Last night before Brett left for work we were watching "Hopkins" that hospital reality show and the story they were showing was about a 2year old with an enlarged heart. I need to summarize because I am getting emotional just thinking about it again. Basically the little guy was going through tests, procedures, and operations to find out the damage done and the prognosis. I was bawling, tears streaming and when they showed the little boy in cardiac arrest and all the tubes and monitors attached and then to watch them tell the mom and dad what had just happened I had to put the blanket over my head, I was overwhelmed with sadness, grief for the parents and thankfulness that I had a healthy little boy sleeping soundly in the next room. Brett turned off the TV and made me promise not to turn it on again when he left, I am glad he did. I went in and laid next to my little O and just starred at his perfectness. I am so blessed.

4th of July& Fishlake

We all headed up to the cabin for the fourth of July weekend. On Friday the fourth we all headed to Richfield to see the parade, collect salt water taffy and tootsie rolls, eat a hamburger w/ just ketchup, watch the races and witness another fish grab. Both Owen and Brett got to experience all this fun for the first time. Owen was such a good little boy and Brett carried him all day in the Bjorn. I love my boys so much!

Bosty and Miss Richfield or as she called her the "Princess"

Fishlake's beautiful weather, sunny and 69-72 degrees! We all loved having the family there with us( we missed you Burdetts& Hopkins), next year is the 20th anniversary of my parents having the cabin, we are going to have another party because you all know how much I love to get the party started. Bears,Baseball, Bass Pro shops and our baby boy!

We went to see the 51's (formally known as the Stars) play Monday night. It was so much fun, and Owen was such a good boy, didn't cry at all. And to our surprise Nomar Garciaparra, Andrew Jones, and Rafael Furcal were there playing with Las Vegas, apparently they were doing injury rehabilitation this week. Sweet huh?

Owen has a little friend--his "My first bear" He loves to play with the bear, wrestle it and most of all eat its nose. I laugh when he gets all excited to see his bear, his legs and arms go stiff and he grunts!

Brett got a fishing pole from my dad for his birthday, so last weekend we took a little drive out to Bass Pro Shops to look at reels and line. I forgot how cool that place is, not weather wise, it felt like it was at least 10 degrees hotter out there! The fishing guys knew about Fish Lake and Brett got a sweet new reel for his rod. Owen was the best little man ever,so interested in all stuffed dear, fish and cougars. My only regret was not getting the camo-onesie, he would've looked so sweet up to the cabin in it.

I forgot to post Owen's three month photo's--poor kid he'll be four month old in a week and half. He has since grown out of these jammies and loves to be sitting up watching everything and everyone. Isn't his face so sweet?

Great Grandma Idamae

Owen's Great Grandma IdaMae Romm came to visit this week. She is a lovely lady that I wish lived closer than Washington. The first night she was in town Owen fell asleep in the car ride over and wouldn't wake up, but the next day was his day with Grandma Shelley so he got to be spoiled by two grandmas. Lucky little guy! We were all happy to have Grandma come visit and get in a few games of Yahtzee and next time Settlers of Catan. We all hope to see her soon! Much love to all our Grandma's !

Happy Fathers Day

I love these pictures, Brett's cake( look at Owen eyeing that cake) , first time in the swimming pool, a good Sunday nap and the boys watching basketball--GO Celtics!

My sweet husband had is first father's day today! Owen had made him a special present, his little feet and hand prints in green paint, a new work shirt, and his favorite cereal.Brett is such a great daddy to Owen! We went to church with my mom &dad cari and bosty, tee was speaking and we some how made it there early (9am) but we seriously struggle with our wards 12:30 meeting time go figure?. Owen was such a great baby at church, he didn't have his normal morning nap instead he talked to the family behind us --the entire second half of sacrament meeting and continued to talk and sing to both his grandpas' all day long. My dad was singing hymns to him and Owen sang right back to him, I ran to get my camera to video it and wouldn't you know they both stopped right then!It was a wonderful day and I am so happy to have so many great fathers' in my life.To my own dad, Brett, my father in law , brothers, brothers in law thank you so much for all your love and great examples to my little boy! We love you all so much!

3 MONTHS OLD

Our sweet baby boy is growing up so fast and I am turning into a Mom that constantly tells their little one to slow down! Today Owen is three months old! His smiles and laughs are more and more frequent and he will talk with his best voice to you if you talk to him.He still loves to be outside and stares at the trees. The park across the street is just waiting for him to be big enough to play on! We are excited to take him to Fish Lake and walk the loop, he's gonna love it! My baby progression book says that three month old babies are recognizing who is a constant in their lives and responds well to them. Owen is doing that so well! I can' t tell you how wonderful it feels to see his little face light up when he wakes up and sees me. And he is so cuddly to Brett when he gets home from work, the two of them together make my heart swell. His hands are a big favorite right now, he is drooling like crazy and just plays with his Binky, I love the gooey gooey sounds he makes right before he'll find his hands. I thought he would like a play mat to help him learn eye hand coordination and for tummy time, the one I choose is a hit! The mat has an arch with a tiger that plays a Congo song if you hit the ball just right, butterflies he loves to hit and swing and a mirror he love to smile at! Just the other morning Owen woke up pretty early and after talking to us for a few minutes we put him on his mat to play, well the poor kid played so hard he fell back asleep. Brett said he was still going for the Congo tiger up until his eyelids dropped. He also had a big day playing with his Grandma Jane( aka MuKA, minna ) Bosty( aka CEO, bosty and the alexis and the moore, thats how she refers to herself) today as well as meet his Great Grandma IdaMae! What a great day for my Owen!
ps the rolls are from the back of his thighs! delicious!

Two New Cousins

So May is turning into a number "2" month for us! Owen is two months old, is wearing double is age in clothes, and has TWO NEW COUSINS! My sister had her twins yesterday! My Mom called us early on Wednesday to tell us the great news. Owen had made his way into our bed, and when I got off the phone with mom I told Owen his cousins had come from heaven and he smiled from ear to ear!We are so excited to have cousins Spencer Daniel and Lucy Grayce in our family and so close in age to Owen. In honor of the twins and taking Mom&Dad to the airport to head off to Dallas, Owen wore his cowboy onesies and pants, all he needed were some boots and wouldn't you know Mom had some for him! yeeeeeeehawwww! Congrats to the Hopkins

PS A few years ago MK dressed up as J-LO for Halloween and now in the same year they both have twins, a little boy and little girl, karma maybe?

Two Months Old

Our little Owen is two months old! He had his is check up last Monday and we got all his stats as a two month old. Our pediatrician has us in the same exam room each time with these crazy wall paintings of jungle animals, Brett and I laugh at the un-proportioned elephant, lion, monkey, panda bear and giraffe,so we had to take a picture to share. He is weighing in at 15lbs 10 oz, yes you read that right our little man knows how to eat and he has all the rolls on his thighs to prove it. He is 24 inches long and his head width and height are in the 95-97th percentile. His weight is off the charts, we are so proud of our little bowling ball! After all that fun of weighing him in and measuring him he got his shots. 5 of them in his delicious little thighs and the nurse misplaced one of his band-aids so he bleed all over his blankie. He also ran a fever for three days and was not himself, lethargic, fussy, and I think I heard a few whimpers . I was a mess, I cried and Brett kept telling me everything would be okay and that all the shots were necessary. I have a wonderful husband, he is a true hands on daddy and Owen and I love him to death. The pictures of Owen with his 2 month sign reminded us of a car sales man, he has a golden smile. I got him a little swim suit so he can go swimming with his pumpa, Dad says he heats the pool up just for him. I think we will make a visit on monday night for FHE and take some more pictures!

I
love my mom, she is my hero and example. I am in awe at all she has sacrificed for me and all she continually does for those privileged to be around her.My little boy loves her and I am grateful for all she has taught me by being my mom and an awesome grandma! She is a woman of integrity, class, love, honesty, beauty, diligence and humor. I love you Mama, you are the best!
