Owen's wrestling skills

His normal sleeping and waking up position
The bumper has been pulled of the slats and is wrapped around him twice , just look at that proud smile!
Giving the monkeys kisses and big loves
On most afternoons my little boy will wake up from is nap with his blanket on him and in pretty much the same position I laid him down in, but lately he has been fully wrestling his blankie, the fitted sheet and just today the kid managed to pull his crib bumper off, wrap it around him and start a conversation with the monkeys and elephants on the bumper! He was singing and talking like he usually does after his nap but with alot more enthusiam. He loves to read his Little People go to the zoo book and the monkeys and elephants on his bedding look just like them, so he probably was thinking--alright there you guys are, nice to meet ya! So silly!

Friends forever
Owen loves his cousin Bosty, and I think the feeling is pretty much mutual for her. She loves to hold him and give him bottles but especially she loves to give him a "big collete kiss" and tell him "love you too oweie". Its really sweet and I love watching them together. She thinks I am finally sharing him and still gets a little upset with her mimi if I don't share him enough. He gets so excited to see her he kicks and talks, saying his new sound of ba ba ba ba---maybe saying bosty who knows. As you can see bosty is a tiny little thing and my boy continually grows, I think there is maybe a 10 inches between the two. I am looking forward to seeing these two grow up together and be good friends .

I just love pictures of my Dad with his grandbabies. Everyone of them loves their Pumpa, Owen especially loves my dads songs, and likes to sing along. I am so thankful to my Dad for being such a good grandpa. He learned from the best.

5 Months

Owen is growing up soo fast! I am amazed at how much he changes every day. He is still a chunky monkey but getting longer every day. He loves his cereal and pears soo much and today added one of my favs to his menu--green beans! My Dad loves to try and sneak him grown up food he has tried to let him gnaw on a hamburger, lunch meat and today a croissant, so silly. Owen is rolling all over the place and prefers to scoot himself backward instead of a normal army man crawl. He has also stole the hearts of many ladies at the old people Smiths we shop at,I am seriously the youngest person in there at any time of day. We have been going on long walks to help with afternoon naps, I have totally spoiled him and beside going to bed at night he won't sleep with out me holding him real snuggy. I love it but I know he needs to sleep without his mommy holding him.He his too cute for words!
ps we are going private as mentioned in the previous post so leave me your emails Thanks

First Movie in 6 months!

Today we saw the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight. We haven't been to the movies in 6 months, yes that is not a ty-po, I have a hard time staying awake in movies. I usually pay for two hour nap, but Christian Bale is a fabulous batman and we both wanted to see this one in the theatres. Brett and I both agree when Batman talks in his batman suit its a little weird, all stressed and horse sounding.Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are back again and do an outstanding job. I always seem to enjoy a sequel better when the same actors are back again. The set design was way cool( same team from the Prestige and Master and Commander)very dark but appealing at the same time. Heath Ledger was crazy scary and at times funny. He really did a great job and its a little easier to understand how sad and messed up he was. Jack Nicholson said he had a hard time adjusting back to reality after he played the Joker and that he had warned Heath. So sad. I am glad we saw the movie at 2 in the afternoon I get really jumpy and I am sure I'll have a pretty restless sleep tonight.

4 months old
Owen had his 4month check up yesterday with Dr. DeSimone. He his our little chunky monkey weighing in at 21 lbs 10 oz, off the chart in his weight and height 97th percentile for his head circumference. He has added a scream to his vocal skills and will laugh out loud. He stills love his play mat and uses the rings to pull himself side to side but as of today at 11:30 am we have a roller. Yes he rolled over, he is mobile, back to tummy, the more difficult way. Our little boy is quite an over achiever already. Kidding. He had his next series of shots, 4 in total and he didn't even cry--just like his mommy. Owen has such a sweet temperament and loves to snuggle, sing, dance, take baths, pull his binki in &out, hold his binki and wave it about, be outside, walks in his stroller, Colette kissed from bosty and being nudy. We also started rice cereal today--HE LOVED IT ! The poor kid has been eyeing real food for weeks and even went after grandpa's burger at the 4th of July festivities. I am so thankful to have such a healthy happy little boy, he makes my heart full of sunshine and I can't imagine a better way to spend my days and nights doing anything else. Last night before Brett left for work we were watching "Hopkins" that hospital reality show and the story they were showing was about a 2year old with an enlarged heart. I need to summarize because I am getting emotional just thinking about it again. Basically the little guy was going through tests, procedures, and operations to find out the damage done and the prognosis. I was bawling, tears streaming and when they showed the little boy in cardiac arrest and all the tubes and monitors attached and then to watch them tell the mom and dad what had just happened I had to put the blanket over my head, I was overwhelmed with sadness, grief for the parents and thankfulness that I had a healthy little boy sleeping soundly in the next room. Brett turned off the TV and made me promise not to turn it on again when he left, I am glad he did. I went in and laid next to my little O and just starred at his perfectness. I am so blessed.

4th of July& Fishlake

We all headed up to the cabin for the fourth of July weekend. On Friday the fourth we all headed to Richfield to see the parade, collect salt water taffy and tootsie rolls, eat a hamburger w/ just ketchup, watch the races and witness another fish grab. Both Owen and Brett got to experience all this fun for the first time. Owen was such a good little boy and Brett carried him all day in the Bjorn. I love my boys so much!
Bosty and Miss Richfield or as she called her the "Princess"

Fishlake's beautiful weather, sunny and 69-72 degrees! We all loved having the family there with us( we missed you Burdetts& Hopkins), next year is the 20th anniversary of my parents having the cabin, we are going to have another party because you all know how much I love to get the party started. Thanks M&D for hosting all 23 of us, you are the best ever

Bears,Baseball, Bass Pro shops and our baby boy!

We went to see the 51's (formally known as the Stars) play Monday night. It was so much fun, and Owen was such a good boy, didn't cry at all. And to our surprise Nomar Garciaparra, Andrew Jones, and Rafael Furcal were there playing with Las Vegas, apparently they were doing injury rehabilitation this week. Sweet huh?

Owen has a little friend--his "My first bear" He loves to play with the bear, wrestle it and most of all eat its nose. I laugh when he gets all excited to see his bear, his legs and arms go stiff and he grunts!
Brett got a fishing pole from my dad for his birthday, so last weekend we took a little drive out to Bass Pro Shops to look at reels and line. I forgot how cool that place is, not weather wise, it felt like it was at least 10 degrees hotter out there! The fishing guys knew about Fish Lake and Brett got a sweet new reel for his rod. Owen was the best little man ever,so interested in all stuffed dear, fish and cougars. My only regret was not getting the camo-onesie, he would've looked so sweet up to the cabin in it.
I forgot to post Owen's three month photo's--poor kid he'll be four month old in a week and half. He has since grown out of these jammies and loves to be sitting up watching everything and everyone. Isn't his face so sweet?

Great Grandma Idamae
Owen's Great Grandma IdaMae Romm came to visit this week. She is a lovely lady that I wish lived closer than Washington. The first night she was in town Owen fell asleep in the car ride over and wouldn't wake up, but the next day was his day with Grandma Shelley so he got to be spoiled by two grandmas. Lucky little guy! We were all happy to have Grandma come visit and get in a few games of Yahtzee and next time Settlers of Catan. We all hope to see her soon! Much love to all our Grandma's !

Happy Fathers Day

I love these pictures, Brett's cake( look at Owen eyeing that cake) , first time in the swimming pool, a good Sunday nap and the boys watching basketball--GO Celtics!
My sweet husband had is first father's day today! Owen had made him a special present, his little feet and hand prints in green paint, a new work shirt, and his favorite cereal.Brett is such a great daddy to Owen! We went to church with my mom &dad cari and bosty, tee was speaking and we some how made it there early (9am) but we seriously struggle with our wards 12:30 meeting time go figure?. Owen was such a great baby at church, he didn't have his normal morning nap instead he talked to the family behind us --the entire second half of sacrament meeting and continued to talk and sing to both his grandpas' all day long. My dad was singing hymns to him and Owen sang right back to him, I ran to get my camera to video it and wouldn't you know they both stopped right then!It was a wonderful day and I am so happy to have so many great fathers' in my life.To my own dad, Brett, my father in law , brothers, brothers in law thank you so much for all your love and great examples to my little boy! We love you all so much!
