Two Months Old

Our little Owen is two months old! He had his is check up last Monday and we got all his stats as a two month old. Our pediatrician has us in the same exam room each time with these crazy wall paintings of jungle animals, Brett and I laugh at the un-proportioned elephant, lion, monkey, panda bear and giraffe,so we had to take a picture to share. He is weighing in at 15lbs 10 oz, yes you read that right our little man knows how to eat and he has all the rolls on his thighs to prove it. He is 24 inches long and his head width and height are in the 95-97th percentile. His weight is off the charts, we are so proud of our little bowling ball! After all that fun of weighing him in and measuring him he got his shots. 5 of them in his delicious little thighs and the nurse misplaced one of his band-aids so he bleed all over his blankie. He also ran a fever for three days and was not himself, lethargic, fussy, and I think I heard a few whimpers . I was a mess, I cried and Brett kept telling me everything would be okay and that all the shots were necessary. I have a wonderful husband, he is a true hands on daddy and Owen and I love him to death. The pictures of Owen with his 2 month sign reminded us of a car sales man, he has a golden smile. I got him a little swim suit so he can go swimming with his pumpa, Dad says he heats the pool up just for him. I think we will make a visit on monday night for FHE and take some more pictures!

Happy Mothers Day

I
love my mom, she is my hero and example. I am in awe at all she has sacrificed for me and all she continually does for those privileged to be around her.My little boy loves her and I am grateful for all she has taught me by being my mom and an awesome grandma! She is a woman of integrity, class, love, honesty, beauty, diligence and humor. I love you Mama, you are the best!

The nursery is done!

Owen is a happy boy. He has his own room, complete with an adorable crib(thanks mom&dad),a fully stocked changing table( thank you julie and kelly)and a dresser full of clothes and books. He is growing every day and I love watching his personality develop. Owen makes both Brett and I laugh daily with his full face smiles, gooos, and squawks and his dancing moves. I have a pair of silky black jammies that he loves to rub his face against, it is so sweet. He is almost two months old and I can't believe it!
A late Happy Birthday shout out to DAD !!! We love you so much papa!

Owen's Sweet face

Hello all, I haven't gotten the nursery done yet, we have to go get the crib. So instead of pictures of my sweet babies' room here's a few of our favorites of Owen. The jeans, white onesie and nikes were Brett's choice, I had gone running and came home to a little ganster baby.

Sunday mornings are always a great time for pictures, and this past Sunday was no exception. Owen had my favorite jammies on and then he got to where his new Sunday outfit, sooo handsome! Finally Owen has always sounded like a little dinosaur when he talks and I had bought the cutest dinosaur onesie from him in my first trimester and I will be so sad when he grows out of it.He was a talking boy at both grandparents homes and got some good bonding time with both sets of his grandparents. LUCKY BOY!he really likes to dance around the house...we both prefer Britany Spears' lucky, its on repeat :)

Blessing Day

Last Sunday little Owen Brett Anderson was given a name and a blessing in our ward. His little outfit fit him so well and he looked so handsome and innocent. His Grandma Jane gave him his special outfit and I hope all our boys will be blessed in it. Owen was so happy the entire morning before church and had actually slept a bit the night before. Our ward is really big and with both our families being large we thought three rows would be enough, nope we ended up using four. We our so thankful to both our families for being there and for the special men who stood in the circle. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Even with the technical difficulties( the microphone did not work) I was so touched by my husbands sweet words for our little boy. We loved seeing everyone and the dinner at mom and dads that night was spectacular! Thank you mom and dad you always put on a great dinner party! Both his Auntie Katie and cousin Eliza came from Illinois to meet him and could not have chosen a better week. A big thank you to them for all their wonderful cooking(Brett is a happy man with a full tummy)graciousness, love, help, and kisses and hugs for Owen. We miss you both already. Owen gets chubbier every day--he takes after his mama and I think his eyes are going to stay dark blue. His face has cleared up sooo much in the past few days and is now making noises like a little dinosaur. I'll post some more pictures of his nursery on Monday hopefully it will be done yippee!

Owen's 1st month

Our little man is one month old! He has grown so much and his little personality comes out more and more every day. The sleeping pattern was great, he knew when it was day and definitely slept deeper in the night, until he had his snip snip procedure and all the Lidocaine (Yes,Lidocaine, she used about 4cc, our Dr. kept saying its the same stuff used at the dentist, I laughed and then thought holy cow he isn't going to feel a thing) running through is tiny body and the trauma of getting shots down there, well he was worn out and slept the ENTIRE day. So since then we have been having parties about 12:30 to 3 or 4.
His blonde hair is still blonde and his eyes have stayed the dark slate blue. He is gaining weight and finally filling out those long chicken legs. At the last doctors' visit he was 11 lbs 4oz and 22 inches. He is still sweet as ever, and full of smiles and little squawks and squeaks with not a whole lot of crying. I am hoping to have his room done by the end of this week, we just moved and everything is still getting unpacked. I am excited for him to see his little jungle mobile, he already gets a kick out of the swirling birdies on his swing. We also finally chose a stroller so Owen and I can get back into shape. He really liked our first walk together but since that first night the wind gusts have been outrageous and he gets so stuffed up with all the dirt and pollen, he was not a happy camper the last few tries.

Moving on up or out or at least somewhere at bit more quiet

Hello all it is 80 degrees and sunny here I love spring in Las Vegas--all two weeks of it! Happy Saturday! This morning Owen and I were enjoying a little nap when a fire engine woke us both up. Now for those who don't know we live across the street from Bettye Wilson soccer fields and practically every weekend there is a tournament so I though that was where the fire engine was headed but no I was wrong. They parked it right outside our apartment to put out a truck that had caught on fire. The truck was not old or beat up, its a really nice truck now completely ruined from an electrical fire. From what I could hear--(the fireman was writing down the owner's statement literally five feet from our little patio)--the cabin started to fill with smoke when he activated his alarm system and engulfed the entire cabin in minutes. Owen fell back asleep within minutes so he missed all the craziness.

The Las Vegas fire department did a great job---I tried to take a picture of the dice on the fire engine but couldn't focus the camera enough and hold my little man, where else is the world do you see dice on a fire engine, viva las vegas! Oh another elvis song comes to mind--- only in the ghettoooo( we really don't live in the ghetto I just like that song and it makes me laugh and think of Liz Harris singing along)I have also posted my favorite picture of Owen to date, as well as a one of him in a little overalls outfit that drowned him but he sure looks like a dumpling in it!
PS we are going to find out about dates tomorrow for Owen's blessing, we will let everyone know when

Easter Weekend

Owen's first Easter was great. After church we went over to grandma Anderson's where she took about a hundred pics of him with his Easter basket(full of my favorite candy) and just hung out for a little while. Then we went to Julie's and Owen finally got to meet Uncle Tom and Tiny. After a delicious dinner Grandma Coons took Owen on a little Easter egg hunt in the back yard. Then we played a little whiffle ball where tiny hit a winning Grand Slam to defeat Mitch and I.
p.s. Brett said we needed to post a family picture, I protested greatly but gave in at the end, I feel better every day even though I still look pretty bad. If my husband wants to blog I will be happy and let him

One week old

Owen is a full week old! I can honestly say the past week has been one big blurr, not individual days. He is such a good boy, and I have loved every minute of the past week with this sweet spirit. Owen sleeps really well --about 3 1/2 hour spurts and he eats like a champ. He is going to his pediatrician tomorrow morning for his first check up and the snip snip procedure. His eyes are so beautiful and I don't think any of these pictures show how cute my little boy is --he is just delicious!

Baby Owen

After a long wait we are finally home with our new little boy. His name is Owen Brett Anderson. He's just so cute we can't help but argue over who gets to hold him(okay, not argue but make sad faces at each other). He was born at 8:43am on March 10, weighing in at 8lbs4oz. and 20 and 3/4 inches long(he will probably shrink a little as his cone head goes down). He has blond hair and dark blue eyes, and the cutest little hands and feet you ever did see. He is the sweetest little guy, besides his little squeaks between being passed around and his little fits when his diaper gets changed, he really doesn't cry at all. Once he came out we both cried uncontrollably, easily said the happiest moment in our lives. Thank you to all those who came and visit us and brought gifts and flowers, it was very appreciated. Now its time for a nap!
